Things Provided by SHU

The University will provide the following bed linen per person

• 1 x pillow
• 1 x duvet (is something like a comforter, a thick bed covering that you'll find in most of the hotels, in short a thicker "被单" than most of us had at home lo~~)
• 1 x pillowcase
• 1 x duvet cover
• 1 x sheet (this is a 床单)

Below is just a small illustration of what a duvet and sheet is~~~

The resident must supply any additional bed linen including pillows and duvets solely for their own use and must be responsible for the laundering of the same.


The University will provide the following cutlery and crockery per person

1 x plate, bowl
1 x mug
1 x fork, spoon & knife
1 x teaspoon
1 x frying pan & pan


Towels, tea towels or toiletries are NOT PROVIDED by the University. (Which means unfortunately we have to buy our own toilet papers, shampoos, shower creams etc.)
But according to our seniors, iron and iron board are provided by SHU so don't worry ^^

And some of our responsibilities when we are staying in the hostels~~~~

• taking out litter daily to the bins provided
• keeping their accommodation clean, tidy and in a fit state
• cleaning kitchen work surfaces, microwaves, cookers, fridges, freezers and all cooking utensils, cutlery and crockery
• laundering the bed linen provided and personal items of clothing and towels etc
